Ian is a former elite defenseman who played three seasons with the Kootenay ICE, earning Top Defenseman honours and runner-up for the Western Hockey League Humanitarian of the Year.
He spent five seasons with the University of Alberta Golden Bears, where he was a National All-Star, won four Canada West titles, and captured a National Championship while completing degrees in Physical Education and Education (Biology minor).
Ian later played professionally with the Bakersfield Condors, Fort Wayne Komets, and Atlanta Gladiators. Today, he competes in Sr. AAA and has been named Allan Cup Hockey West MVP, Top Defenseman, Allan Cup Champion, and Allan Cup National Tournament All-Star — while helping develop the next generation through The Defensive Edge.
